Yes, the fact that we have warm weather most of the year will give you ample opportunities to get out and join in the action. Recreational water sports, golfing, fishing and sunbathing  are just a few of the things you can do here in the Treasure Coast. Over the past few years paddle boarding has gotten really big. Instead of surfing on a board you stand up  and use a paddle to move yourself. Our inter-coastal waterways offer ample venues to check out this great sport.

Both the Indian River and the St. Lucie River offer numerous places to paddle without navigating through big waves. The back canals and mangroves offer the optimum paddle boarding atmosphere and there is so much wildlife to see as you float down stream. You could even encounter dolphin in the river which is so exciting to see. I have seen dolphin while boating and jet skiing on the Indian River Lagoon and it creates a memory of a lifetime.

Kayaking is also very popular and some people will even outfit their kayak with fishing gear for the best of both worlds and why not! I was always worried I’d catch a fish and it would pull me over into the river. “But what do I know”.
