South Florida has an irresistibly balmy climate and our weather is the first of many attractions sought after here is Martin County, especially if you’re looking to relocate. With its old Florida charm Stuart is a small town with approximately 17,000 people. Stuart is located on the eastern coast of Florida and for a small town it has a decent selection of 55 plus condo communities. So, if you’re an AARP member you might be thinking about purchasing a property like this. And while there are many of these retirement communities in Stuart and the surrounding area, some have more to offer than others.
The development that stands out the most in active adult lifestyle category is South River. This community was constructed in 1981, has 39 two story buildings which are situated over 87 beautiful acres. I will mention at the time of construction in 1981 the builders took care to preserve much of the natural flora, and over time there have been many enhancements made to keep the environment lush and inviting and this is what makes this community special. South River is a gated development that provides a nice blend of nature and recreation right out your backdoor and all at affordable prices.
Offering both 1 and 2-bedroom condos the development is situated along the south fork of the St Lucie River. The condo association fees, as of 2018, runs $312 monthly. This community offers great fishing and boating, a private dock, heated pool, shuffleboard courts, bocce ball and billiards. One more perk, South River has RV and boat storage right on premise, so you don’t have to travel far to use all those fun grown up toys. The property is off South Kanner highway making it easy to get to and from the airport and within a 5-minute drive to downtown Stuart where you can enjoy great shopping, food and entertainment.
Prices in this community range from $110K for 1-bedroom units to about $160K for the two-bedroom floor plans. The board members retain a full-time property manager 5 days a week to handle maintenance and repairs. And of course, all outside maintenance is taken care of so you can spend your time enjoying the Florida sunshine. Isn’t that what you’re looking for!
